NEED COMP. HELP PLZ im upgrading my comp

first of this new makeover im giong to try and buy a new CPU altleast 2.3 GHz but most cuz of price a 2.8 or if they make a 2.9 or if I can find a cheap 3.00 GHz so if anyone is good in DSG with computerz PLZ help me decide the basics of my PC are : Intel

There are some things that you must keep in mind. 1. There are no cheap processors. Those are the most expensive parts to a computer. 2. You will more than likely need to change out your motherboad also cause I can almost guarantee that the pin count for the processor will not match your motherborad you have now and it won't be compatible. 3. Make sure if you do get a new processor that you get a new heatsink, fan and thermal paste. 4. If you are going to install it yourself make sure you, yourself are grounded. Take it from me personally that static electricity will destroy a prcessor and motherboard and most places will not replace them due to self negligence. If you have any questions please ask i will be more than willing to help you out.

although i dont know prices in the states, with $90 i would just add u some more ram. if u have the open slots its your best bet for your money.Its not always cheap though, some old types are still pretty expensive, find a website for ram..something like kingston etc. they will usually have something where u type in your computer and it will tell u what kind of ram you need to buy

$90 is a little low for a computer, if your price can go to $500 i can get you a very nice rig, a single gig of ram is generally $40+

if you can go up to $1k i can build you a beast like i have\

sorry Hosi Darkside got me covered! but thanks for the advise I have this nice LOAD that imgoing to buy tonight! may not be as flashy as urs but I got 2 gigs of Ram soon a Intel Pentium 4 Cedar Mill 3.00GHz CPU it iz a lil old but it has alot of push using Hyper Threading Tec. wich is the next best Multi taksing Tec. besides Core 2 Duo or X2 I got a nice Foxconn MotherBord coming in too it was a lil cheap about $50 but it supports upto 4gb (bout as high as i'll go 4now) and has a onbord Nvidia chipset in total this all is about $200 plus I didnt mention I can Overclock the CPU to 4.2-4.5 GHz ( ITZ A BEAST)...when I learn how to overclock and how not to F up ur stuff when doing to but for now, this september I will probaly have a better mother bord this one is only holding my sh!t together.
